Ware, are you ranked in the nations Kindergarden Grads?

I just want to start by saying that this is a totally biased opinion of my name sake! The boy "ROCKS!" I just needed to get that out. I am so proud of him I don't know what to do! Look out world here comes another Ware phenom! Not quite up there with Andre and Demarquis yet but give him another decade!

Just have to share this years accomplishments!

First off...... the wrestling.
I never heard of little league wrestling on the east coast but it is apparently a rather big thing here in TX. So Having wrestled in High school and a little in college, I figured I would give it a go. Not only would it keep him busy but being one of a very few African American kids in his community, being able to defend yourself is a good skill to have.

He really took to it! He has done Folk style, Greco and Free style all before he turned 7 and has flourished. He took 1st and second place at most of his tournaments. and in Camp this summer he won 20 matches in a row! "That's my boy!" (proud dad mantra)

I had the pleasure of standing in as his mat side coach on a few occasions and he definitely made me proud!

And now for the best part! He is knocking them out of the park in school!

Just got his year end evaluation and I couldn't believe it! He is well above grade level across the board. He scored perfect 10's across the board on his evaluation and got a 16 on his reading level. 4 is what they look for at end of Kindergarten so he quadrupled that! his reading is 91 words per minute and they expect 60 by end of first grade, which he has not entered as yet!

I suppose Joelle and I do something well, and that is make babies! They are all doing so well in everything they have given a go. Keep up the good work!

It's not a "Ware" it's a what?

Summer is upon us, and the lazy days around the pool in the back yard are piling up. Jirden and I were cleaning the skimmers and enjoying a swim when I noticed we were not alone! Something was watching us from underneath the diving board. I pointed it out to Jirden and his first reaction was to investigate. But then it moved, and he was out of the water like a shot! We Chased the frog around the pool for a while trying to catch it, but it was just to fast. I finally caught it, with the net we use to removed leaves, and placed it outside the fence. Upon closer investigation Jirden pointed out that the frog had four eyes. Two little ones that kept blinking according to him. I had to explain that those were not eyes, but they were the frogs nostrils. They were opening and closing when he breaths air.

A cave full of Ware cubs

Spring break was a chance to spend some time with the family and visit friends, so we trucked off to NM. Lots of fun and learning opportunities that masqueraded as fun!

Gadgets Gadgets everywhere and how they make you think!

Was just looking at some of my youngest's creations yesterday and thought I should start posting them online. He spends lots of time creating these new inventions that have wonderful explanations that go along with them. I got him a set of tinker toys that he plays with on a regular basis, so much so that i got a him an identical set to increase the size of his creations. I did the same fr his older sisters but they had alphabet squares that interlocked. We used to make castles and other walk in creations.

"The Day After"............. Easter

This year's Easter festivities were minimal. Had an enjoyable Sunday with my oldest, Braeden. We went golfing together, for the first time, just the two of us. We had been to the driving range and the pitch and put, before, but this was our first official "on the course", playing a round together golf outing. It was fun! We only played 9 holes, but I got a chance to talk candidly with my daughter, without the background noise of siblings or spouse. She played surprisingly well, and I just kept thinking to myself, when did she grow up to be such a lovely young lady. I played a personal best of 40 and she finished with something over 65 but we had fun, and that is what I will remember always. She got to drive the golf cart and eat jelly beans.
